NCE Instrumentation
High innovation, strong growth

Situated in Trøndelag, NCE Instrumentation represents high-tech knowledge within the field of instrumen-t-ation. With solid roots in R&D, NTNU, HiST (Sør-Trøndelag University College) and SINTEF, the cluster has developed over a 20 year period and has succeeded in attracting demanding national customers.
More-over, the cluster is internationally competitive and has a turnover exceeding NOK 4 billion.
NCE Maritime
A maritime adventure

The maritime cluster on the west coast of Norway consists of 12 design companies, 17 ship owning companies, 13 shipyards and 161 equipment suppliers. The cluster is complete and covers all the elements of the value chain, with several companies in each segment, which compete with each other. And all this - within a small geographical area.
NCE Micro- and Nanotechnology
Innovation on the micro and nano level

NCE Micro- and Nanotechnology is the result of a long-term commitment to microtechnology in the region of Vestfold. The companies in the cluster comprise the most important commercial arena for micro- and nano-technology in Norway, and play a leading role in the Norwegian electronics and ICT fields. Most of the companies in the cluster are international lead-ers in their product areas – marketing and selling their products to major, demanding international customers.
NCE Raufoss
100 years of industrial development

More than one hundred years of experience with international industrial development forms the background for the Raufoss industrial cluster, an outgrowth of Raufoss ASA. The cluster’s core area of activity is the manufacturing of products in lightweight materials by automated production. Today, the main markets are automotive and defence, and the goal is to develop a na-tional resource centre for manufacturing. The industrial cluster at Raufoss consists of nearly 40 companies with more than 4,000 employees. The group’s total turnover amounts to roughly NOK 5 billion, of which exports comprise some 85%.

SINTEF Raufoss Manufacturing AS (SRM) heads NCE Raufoss. SRM is a joint R&D company, acting as a resource centre and development partner for companies in the group and Norwegian manufacturing industry. SRM will also play the role of integrator through its well-established networks both inside and outside the cluster.

NCE Systems Engineering Kongsberg
Ensures growth conditions for high-tech industry

The Kongsberg cluster comprises knowledge-based companies, several of which are world leading in demanding industries like subsea, maritime, auto-motive, aircraft, defence and aerospace industries. Many of the core companies grew out of civilian divisions of Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk (defence industry). The cluster has gene-rated new industries and value creation using brainpower, expertise and collaborative solutions. The cluster leads Norway in industrializing major technological innovations and has achieved a key position in global markets.
NCE Subsea
Innovative cooperation at deep sea

Since the early eighties the subsea industry in the Bergen area, Norway, has grown to become one of the world’s most complete environments for subsea technology. The regional cluster consists of some hundred companies and organizations with subsea as their only or main business area. NCE Subsea is an initiative by the subsea industry in the Bergen area for the strengthening and internationalization of business, R&D and education.

NCE Culinology
Strenghtens knowledge and innovation

The main objective in creating NCE Culinology is to strengthen the knowledge platform and capacity for innovation in the field of gastronomy and culinary diffe-rentiation for the benefit of Norwegian food production. The food cluster in Rogaland has deep historic roots in the production of agricultural-based food and seafood. In addition to a strong production side, the district has an acknowledged culinary environment and a well established network in which industry, R&D institutions and the public authorities are working in close colla-boration to develop the industry.
NCE Aquaculture
Fish farming for a global market

NCE Aquaculture focuses on value creation and innovation associated with commercial production of farmed fish and seafood for the global market. The cluster consists of companies involved in the production of fry and edible fish, processing, feed production, technology, health and environment, finance, research and training. These are key actors who by virtue of their competence and resource base will play a decisive role in the further de-velopment of Norwegian aquaculture.
NCE Oslo Cancer Cluster
From cancer research to cure

Oslo Cancer Cluster is an exiting new biotechnology cluster solely focused on developing new cancer treatments and diagnostics for the benefit of cancer patients all over the world.
Oslo Cancer Cluster is a Norwegian Centre of Expertise (NCE) integrating members from the life science industry, research institutions, university hospitals, govern-ment and the Norwegian Cancer Society. The aims of the cluster are to accelerate the develop-ment of innovative cancer diagnostics and treatments, and to ensure that patients get access to the new treatments developed. Every day in Norway 66 people are diagnosed with cancer  - with a current treatment success rate of 50%. Oslo Cancer Cluster aims to raise this significantly to ensure that more people live longer, dying not of their cancer but - with managed and under control.

NCE NODE
NCE NODE is the oil and gas technology cluster at the southern coast of Norway consisting of approximately 50 companies in the value chains of three niches – offshore drilling, offshore loading and offloading, mooring and anchoring, and active heave compensated cranes. These companies are based on the region’s long industrial and shipping tradition, many among the pioneers when the era of oil and gas exploration started in Norway in the mid 1960s. Products range from complete oil and gas platforms to critical high technology equipment for drilling and production of oil and gas in harsh climates.
NCE Tourism Fjord Norway
Norway is a land of stunning nature – the fjords being the main incentive for choosing this country as a travel destination. NCE Tourism Fjord Norway is dedicated to profiling what National Geographic Traveler Magazine has named the world’s best unspoiled travel destination, and is a result of the longest and most successful regional cooperation in tourism in Western Norway. This “fjord model” has become a reference for other regions in Norway and abroad.
NCE Energy and Emissions Trading Halden
The global economy demands more energy, while the globe demands lower emissions. Fifty percent of global emissions stem from energy production. Achieving the ambitious goal of creating a sustainable environment through low carbon solutions requires big changes in energy systems. The Norwegian Centre of Expertise (NCE) Energy and Emissions Trading Halden is prepared to work together with the energy industry for a future through green growth.
